Leveling

Leveling

After aligning the teeth horizontally so that they are evenly spaced side by side in a smooth curve, an orthodontist will move onto the second area of orthodontic treatment, leveling.

Vertical leveling is an orthodontics method employed to align the upper teeth with the lower teeth.

The smooth curve achieved through the initial alignment phase when looking down onto the biting surface did not account for alignment when looking straight onto to teeth. This leveling step via dental braces and often orthodontic elastics shifts upper and lower teeth so that they now match up-and-down in addition to lengthwise.
