Space Closure

Space Closure

Once the teeth have been aligned, leveled and brought to normal molar placement, the orthodontist can move onto the space closure portion of orthodontic treatment.

Patients that require the extraction of one or more teeth to create space for aligning the teeth must undergo an extra step before space closure.

The orthodontics treatment known as space closure remedies any remaining gaps between the teeth after they have been properly aligned in an even curve, leveled vertically, and brought to Class I molar position. Space closure is often achieved through looping the wiring to create tension between brackets.
